Overview
Egan General Trading is the group’s agricultural business — an exporter that connects Ethiopian farmers to global markets through owned farmland, farmer partnerships and integrated logistics. It farms its own land, works with a contract farmer network across multiple regions, and runs its own trucks from farm gate to port.
Cultivation runs in the Godey River Basin and the Shabelle Valley in the Somali Region — legumes, cereals, sesame and beans — alongside sourcing partnerships elsewhere in Ethiopia. Sourcing is held to EU and US ethical standards: environmental stewardship, fair labour, zero child labour. The export book spans specialty Arabica coffee — including Yirgachefe, Sidama and Harar — oilseeds, pulses and cereals; processing facilities are currently under construction.
